It’s official: Jersey has the highest percentage of young people who can’t afford to leave home. A record 48% of New Jerseyans aged 18-34 are living with parents. They’re better educated than most, but a very weak job market, declining wages, soaring student loans, and high housing costs (including property taxes) make it impossible for them to get started in life. This has seriously affected our first-time homebuyer business, which is way down. I miss my first-time buyers!
